Stockholm Syndrome

These images were all taken in a hotel room in Stockholm, Sweden between Monday 22th June and Friday 26th June 2009. The photographs tell the story of a subject involuntarily trapped in a non-descript room which she obsessively photographs and in the process anesthetizes. There is profound emptiness and dismay in these images and the fact they are taken in one definite space and yet can conjure impressions and memories of similar rooms in any urban environment suggests that we are in a sense consistently trapped. The definitions of locales and national lines do not seem to matter any more.
