i, me

we’re dying,
dear
we’ve gone away
for a long time.

my crops are failing
they are shriveled and
soon to be dead,
and i am plummeting.

i know where i am.
i’ve been here before,
and i know what will likely
happen

where we were
no longer exists,
and we are forced to march.
